THE LOCUST GROVE HERITAGE FOUNDATION ANNUAL MEETING
The Locust Grove Heritage Foundation will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, November 6 at 6:30 pm at the Locust
Grove Recreation Department in the former Baptist Church. A very short business meeting will precede the program
presented by Walter Carmichael. Walter Carmichael is a life long resident of Jackson, GA. He is a dedicated member of the
Butts County Historical Society.
He has a love of history, particularly that which is related to Native Americans; his home town of Jackson, GA, county seat of
historical Butts County, GA; Indian Springs; Seven Islands; the Civil War; and many others. Walter is an engaging speaker and
likes to include friends who are knowledgeable in certain areas of history in his programs.
After the program, there will be an old-fashioned “covered dish” meal. Meat, drink and rolls will be furnished. Attendees are
requested to bring a vegetable, salad or dessert. The meeting is open to the public.
For More Information, call Kathy at 678-643-0609.
History is not an anchor to hold us
down; it is a foundation on which to build.
